Empty

EMPTY

Debbie, my life is empty without you

The first thing in the morning I notice you are not there

The empty space beside me is more than I can bear

I listen for your voice, but silence is all I hear

I miss so much having you near

Debbie, my life is empty without you

There is no sweet smile to greet me at the break of day

There is no voice, “I love you” to say

One is such a lonely number, just one

I travel back in memories to when we first begun

My life without you is empty each day

I miss you, I love you, I will forever say

Every day every moment in time

Forever I will miss you, love of mine

My life is empty without you, love of mine

One is a lonely number, just one

I travel back in memories to when we first begun

In the morning I have my coffee and whatever I eat

But you are not there the new day to greet

As I pray, I miss your voice

To be without you is not my choice

My life is empty without you

I go off to work without your kiss

Your warm and tender lips I miss

Day by day, I still feel your prayer

For you, my love, I will forever care

My life is empty without you

From work, I want to call you to brighten my day

Without you to listen, I have little to say

I come home and seek your presence but there is an empty space

In my heart I remember a welcome home face

My life is empty without you

You always had a meal ready and it was so good

Now I eat whatever, not what I should

You were the perfect hostess ready to serve every day

You kept us smiling day after day

When the meal was over it was time to be close

Late in the evening I miss you the most

You made me feel important and loved so much

How precious was your loving – touch

Every night we prayed together as one

Our day was not over until the prayer was done

You were the heart of my life

You were everything the Word calls for in a wife

Our adult children knew they could come home anytime

Sometimes we would arrive home and there one of them we would find

My life is empty without you

Many nights we would fall asleep in a warm embrace

When holding you my heart did race

Without you I am not the same

Sometimes I hear you calling my name

The Word says that He will not put any more on us than we can bear

In all of life’s pain, with you none  can compare

You never gave upon me when I went astray

You were there for the good and the bad times each day

My life is empty without you

You have prayed for our family day after day

You were on your knees even when you knew not how to pray

A prayer warrior you were always to defend

Your prayer life had no end

My life is empty without you

You celebrated grand times and small

You invited us to celebrate them all

My love, my life I know that you are waiting for me

When I join you, from tears I will be free

With you God gave me more than I deserve for all

To be a godly wife and mother was your call

When one in your family cried, you cried along

When one in your family rejoiced you sang a praise song

My life is empty without you

To have known you was to have loved you

You said I love you in everything you did do

I have many precious memories over the years

I remember times of laughter and times of tears

Your love was showered on family, friends, and strangers, each one

They felt the strength when your prayer begun

I know that you are in heaven and our daughter in your arms

You kiss her gently and see her precious charms

My life is empty without you

I know that you are waiting for me to be where you are

To me it seems like forever, buy in His time it is not far

I love you and I will see you one day

“I love you” are the words I wait to hear you say

Being with you my life will no longer be empty but fulfilled

I love you Debbie
